Even though it isn’t something you consciously realise, it takes more effort to have conversations through video conferencing than it does in real life. Zoom fatigue continues to be a real issue.

You have to work harder to read people’s facial expressions and decode tone through a computer screen. Nonverbal communication is quite natural and each of us naturally makes and interprets gestures and nonverbal cues subconsciously. But in video chats, we have to work harder to send and receive signals.
